For many of us the sale of our business is the most complex and difficult business transaction we ever undertake.
For almost all of our clients the value achieved on exit fundamentally affects the quality of their life post sale.
In conjunction with our Corporate Finance or Business Broker partners, Azure provides an exit planning process to help you:
- Assess the risks and opportunities facing the business and develop plans to increase the value of the business before sale.
- Assess the exit routes available to you
- Develop an outline profile of potential buyers and their likely requirements
- Consider the range of likely sale values
And crucially:
- Develop an action plan and timetable to achieve an efficient sale for optimum value.
After a successful management buy out some years ago our business had passed the £10 million milestone and was heading steadily towards £20 million. We began to think about developing and realising the value of our business. Our shareholder directors were of very different ages and had different aspirations for their business life and different financial requirements post sale.
So there were a number of internal issues to be sorted out in addition to determining how to build the business for sale. The Azure Planning Process was very valuable. It kick started the implementation of a coherent growth and exit strategy to satisfy the ambitions of all of our shareholders. Of more importance to us, the process brought the Board closer together so that we work as a unified and effective team.
